Why are there two different seeds in the seedless watermelon packet?

Seedless watermelon cannot produce pollen but still requires pollen to produce fruit.

The larger seed is a different seeded variety that produces enough pollen to pollinate all the flowers. It is called the pollinator seed.

Both seeds need to be planted to ensure you get seedless fruit.

The pollinator will produce seeded fruit.

Mark your plants so you know which plants will produce the seedless fruit.
