How do I condition my cut zinnia flowers?

Step 1: Bring a bucket of warm water (not hot!) with you to the garden.

Step 2: Cut the flower at a flower node point.

Step 3: Place the cut flower into the water immediately. This will allow them to take up water through the freshly cut stem.

Step 4: Cut on an angle to give more surface area for the water to be taken up. Keep them out of the direct sun.

Step 5: Enjoy your cut flowers!
