This number refers to the average number of days it takes a vegetable plant to be ready to be harvested once it has been planted in the garden. The number of days to maturity is only for vegetables.
Flowers do not have DTM.
For crops that are started indoors, such as tomatoes, peppers and eggplants, days to maturity begins when the transplants are set in the garden.
For seeds sown outdoors directly in the garden, such as beans, cucumbers and lettuce, days to maturity begins when the plant has several "true" leaves.
